No matter how much you shop and hoard your clothes you always end up pulling your hair out of your head because you have nothing to wear. Correct? Maybe it’s high time you straighten your closet. So what are you waiting for? Start by building your closet around Basic Classic Wardrobe. Invest in basic wardrobe essential. Once you build your BCW you can create/recreate all the looks that you desire by pairing the basic classic pieces to your current trends. Your once ugly grandma skirt can be transformed easily into a chic everyday wear by pairing it with your white tee that you just invested in, and yes with the right amount of accessories to go with it.

A classic trend never goes out of style. Start by investing on a Little Black Dress or a basic white t-shirt. The one thing we all know about LBD is that it’s Timeless. It’s in – nothing more nothing less. One can easily add and own it into their life. Rule of fashion, every woman should own a simple, elegant black dress that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. As designer Norma Kamali says, “Take us to parties, job interviews, weddings and funerals. We experience all of life’s big events in the little black dress. It can be respectful or empowering, depending upon the design.” The LBD gives us a chameleon-like ability to fit into any kind of social circumstances, and therein lies its appeal.

I picked up this black bodycon dress from French Connection Autumn Winter ’14 collection. The moment I laid my eyes on it, all I could think was Coco Chanel which essentially connected me to Audrey Hepburn. Who would forget her exquisite LBD designed by Hubert de Givenchy in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”; it symbolizes the epitome of chic, a film that has influenced fashion more than most.

Let’s say, the quintessential LBD is here to stay. It’s effortless, chic, timeless, iconic, and versatile and suits everyone.

Remember, first you must build your Basic Classic Wardrobe… Then you can add current trends into your life!
