It is evident that my love for vintage style manifests in almost all my get up.
This time around I took the pledge to rock cotton flared pants from the 70s to alight my lookbook.
We all know fashion is a very predictable cycle, what is now in; it will eventually go out and so on. And it’s one of the main reason why I hoard and never part ways with any of my old items or my mums or my aunts. We never know when we will regret it, or better yet, we know we will regret it soon. Only hoarders can comprehend with me. Hoarders anyone?
Initially the wide-legged pants were popular amongst the hippies but soon the popularity grew and it became the mainstream fashion trend in the early 70s. This trend has been royally kept alive by celebrities like Victoria Beckham, The Olsen Twins, Nicole Ritchie and Jennifer Lopez to name a few. Nobody sports the flared pants better than these style icons.
For those who might be unsure about this trend, let me assure you nothing can go wrong if you choose the right wide legged pants according to your body type. I agree, it’s no joke to master the art of wearing wide-leg, but with smart styling and few tricks this cool trend will flatter any body type. In fact for those who are shorter in height like me, this trend achieves that long and lean silhouette, by adding extra length to your body. Also an antidote for those who needs a break from those slim fit jeans and try something else.
BTW I’m totally crushing on this ‘Phoenix’ Black/White Minaudière Clutch by Tarini Nirula
