H&M presents the Conscious Exclusive collection 2016 where contemporary styles are displayed with a sophisticated charm. The collection pays homage to 300 years of fashion at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs located in the Palais du Louvre in Paris and is inspired by painterly works of art. It takes the idea and art of sustainability to new levels and translates it with chicness which highlights their style objective — Working with new innovative materials such as beads and rhinestones made from recycled glass and Denimite (a precious stone like material made from recycled worn-out denim!).
Fashion and I joins in to show solidarity to an important milestone of the brand through some interesting recycled numbers from the collection.
The Philo Skirt which is a shapely pannier skirt in textured jacquard fabric with a worn-out, time-consumed patina, made of a mix of organic linen, silk and cotton has been teamed with the Armour long sleeve blouse with delicate details made of Tencel and nylon.
The Philotes dress in a jacquard texture with gold threads over an off-white base creates a precious layer upon which embroidered flower patches are applied. The jacquard fabric is made of Tencel, silk and lurex. The embroideries are made of glass beads in recycled and new glass and conscious rhinestones in recycled and new glass.
The most exciting part of the collection is also the fact that this is the first time it’s in India so you got to gear up to experience the feel of fashion history in the garments while joining in to glorify the conscious effort of the brand to acknowledge art of recycling.
