Day 3 FDCI India Couture Week 2016: Rahul Mishra

A nondescript little village has been my homeland, far away from the hustle bustle of the urban landscape, here the beauty of nature blooms and survives. When the first drops of rains fall on the parched earth, the fragrance spreads far and wide, to bring in a harmonious sonata of flora and fauna. The birds chirp and sing like never before, the flowers bloom and nature soaks to create beauty all around us.

Inspired by German biologist and artist Ernst Haeckel’s work Kunstformen der Natur (art forms of nature, 1899), Monsoon Diaries take me wandering down the mystical gardens.

For the modern day bride, elements from oldest hand technique and artworks inspired by delicate flora of monsoons, the journey transcends from day to evening. Each garment brings to life confluence of traditional techniques and amazing handwork and skills of gifted artisans and embroiderers.

The completely handmade collection interspersed with abundant detailing gives a new meaning to haute couture, for that special day in a woman’s life.
