The day 3 at Amazon India Fashion Week started with a bang with Huemn, Ikai by Ragini Ahuja and ILK by SVA bringing their spring/summer collection to the runway. The HUEMN collection was a tribute to the individual. It celebrated the confidence of today’s influencers. The collection consisted of separates with retro-cool, androgynous vibe along with classic silhouettes reinterpreted with varsity and athleisure details. Ragini Ahuja brought her take on the oversized Indian to the ramp with graphic artworks and punk details. The long line silhouettes were created in sheer chanderi and cottons. ILK by SVA focused on summer floral creating a haze with their shadow for their collection. And Ashima & Leena continued the trend of florals with their collection. Their collection revolved around the ideology of breezy romanticism. Rabani and Rakha’s collection complemented the wardrobe of the contemporary Indian women of today. Each ensemble had intricate hand embroideries in tonal hues which blended seamlessly with color palette, i.e. sand, honey, apricot, ice peach, for the collection. This was followed by Sid Tyler’s show whose collection was inspired by Voyniche manuscript with heavily embroidered yet light in weight ensembles. Anupamaa Dayal gave an ode to the maritime history of Calcutta with her The Pirates of Calcutta collection. Inspired by the 15th century Iznik pottery, Kavita Bhartia sketched anew story infused with fun and contemporary Indian silhouettes. All this was followed by Sanchita’s pajama party inspired by prickly cacti and orchids that interpret a second skin. Gauri and Nainika brought ruffled femininity back in all its glory to the runway. The feminine innocent styles were juxtaposed with harness and belts by New York based designer Zana Bayne to lend a strong and starking contrasting look. Malini Ramani’s collection was her most wearable collection till date. The separates can be easily transition from day to night and from casual to chic. She also launched her yoga and menswear line. And finally, the day ended with on a high glam quotient with Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna.
