For the first time, The Fashion Design Council of India got Italy on board as the partner country for the Amazon India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017. Under this participation, the Italian Trade Commission in collaboration with the FDCI and in association with ASSOCALZATURIFICI (Italian Footwear Manufacturers’ Association) and AIMPES (Italian Leather goods Manufacturers’ Association), 45 Italian brands were presented at Fashion Appeals from Shoulder to Heels show. Out of the 45 Italian brands, 41 top brands of shoes and bags are ready to take a plunge in the Indian market with their strong fundamentals of design, comfort and craftsmanship for which Italian fashion is known for around the world. For the shoes Italy will be “on the stage” with Fratelli Borgioli, Deimille, Gianna Meliani, Lella Baldi, Loriblu, Marino Fabiani, Movimenti calzature, Thierry Rabotin, Pakerson luxury shoes hand made since 1923, Rangoni Firenze, Walter Pignataro, and, in the special exhibit “Twelve Shoes. A pair for each hour of the day”, Aldo Bruè, Alma, Baldinini, Fabi, Falc-Voile Blanche, Imac Group, Loriblu, Stonefly, Vittorio Virgili. For leather goods, Italian collection will be represented by Angivenezia, Anna Cecere, Bags’ Hunter by Marco Giorgetti, Benedetta Bruzziches, Boldrini Selleria dal 1955, Bric’s, Castamusa, Corsoundici, Giancarlo Petriglia, Harleq, Interno 24/Re-Design, Monya Grana, Pasotti since 1956, Popcorn Milano-Christian Villa, Soraya Milano, Tecknomonster, V°73 and Leu Locati in a special display “Icons from the past”. A special pavilion has been dedicated to the ITA which will showcase the 41 brands of shoes and bags. One wall inside the pavilion has been especially dedicated to 12-Hour show, which has been curated by Daniele Fedi and Lucia Serlenga, has been brought by MICAM, Assocalzaturifici & City of Milan to showcase the same during India Fashion Week. The 12-Hr Show has been conceptualized in order to show the importance of every pair of shoes, which might have been lying idle in our wardrobe. It depicts the distinction; every pair of shoes has, if it is worn according to its very own hour of the day. With this association, Italy showcases its finest and latest collection of bags and shoes which were beautifully complemented by outfits from young designers Alberto Zambelli, Bav Tailor, Davide Grillo, Leitmotiv which were selected by National Chamber of Italian Fashion. The clothing collection adhered to the key trends predicted for the spring/summer 2017. Some of the stand- out looks from the show were cross-over bow upper with neutral separates, metallic jumpsuits and pantsuits and white crop top with fur inlay paired with tennis skirt.
