Nature, maximalism, youthfulness: three adjectives that are the cornerstones of Humberto Leon and Carol Lim’s vision for Kenzo. Pair that with H&M’s easy street style quotient and you get the hottest new collab to hit stores this fall.
Rolling with the success of #HMBalmination, the brand has partnered with yet another Parisian giant, giving high street customers a chance to own one-of-a-kind limited edition items. The highly coveted collection hits H&M stores worldwide on November 3rd.
The collection includes apparel as well as accessories for both men and women. Featuring Kenzo’s iconic junglist motifs, and it’s slightly off-kilter design elements this is for the shopper open to a little experimentation. Animal prints in vibrant hues, stand out florals and unconventional stripes are showcased on oversize, asymmetrical silhouettes. Neon hues bring to mind a penchant for 80’s exhibitionism. While, high collars and layered ruffles hint at Victorian influences. The capsule brings forth Kenzo’s fascination with natural elements and couples them with easy-to-wear streetwear styles – bomber jackets, graphic T’s and peasant dresses. A world away from Balmain’s high-power chic aesthetic, this capsule feels more wearable on an everyday basis. This is why we decided to work with a street-style vibe, instead of a full-blown editorial.
Greying, brutalist architecture contrasts with poppy florals offsetting the youthful exuberance of the collection. H&M’s found the perfect mix of luxury and high street, and this is it.
